Glad to have you back! Buckle your seats and please keep your hands inside the vehicle! We’re about to fly back in time! …Today we will be looking at Egyptian and Mesopotamian Clothing!!!


These sandals are from Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Valley of the Kings, Tomb of Yuya and Tjuyu. They are from the time period 1390–1352 B.C. They were excavated in 1905. They are made of plaited grass and reeds, with the toe and side straps made of split papyrus.

Here is a dress clothing from Egypt around the time period of 1550 – 1070 BCE. During this time period, clothing like such were worn to reveal less skin.

This is a statue of Gudea from the Neo-Sumerian period around 2090 B.C.. It is located in Mesopotamia, mostly from Girsu. Gudea was the ruler of the Akkadian Empire, in southern Mesopotamia from 2150 – 2125 B.C. The sculpture show the wooden cloaks or ropes that were worn draped over the body.
